| In June, nineteen outstanding East Hampton young men and women were selected by the Student Awards Committee to receive LVIS college scholarships. The total money awarded was over $100,000. Destinations of these students include American University in Washington DC,College of William and Mary, Cornell University, Dickenson College in Pennsylvania, Flagler and Valencia Colleges in Florida, Manhattan School of Music, Penn State, Suffolk Community College, SUNY at Binghampton, Geneseo and Purchase, Sussex University in England, Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, University of Delaware and University of Florida. |

| In December of 2011 LVIS awarded $3000 Madelon DeVoe Talley scholarships to Patricia Grande and Bobbi Coleman. The scholarship is awarded to a woman who is at least twenty-five years old and wishes to enter or return to college to earn a bachelor’s degree. Patricia attends Suffolk Community College, pursuing a teaching career. Bobbi also attends Suffolk, studying business and human resources. Our 2012 winners will be announced in late fall. |
