On June 8, 2015, twenty outstanding East Hampton young men and women were selected by the Student Awards Committee to receive LVIS college scholarships. The total money awarded was over $158,000. Destinations of these students include Brown, Colgate, Cornell, Fordham, High Point, Lehigh, North Western and the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and Clemson, Marist, and Mt. Holyoke Colleges.Our 2015 Madelon DeVoe Talley scholarship recipients will be announced later this fall.

|In June, eighteen outstanding East Hampton young men and women were selected by the Student Awards Committee to receive LVIS college scholarships. The total money awarded was over $110,000. Destinations of these students include Capstone College of Nursing, Connecticut College, Cornell University, Georgetown University, Hobart and William Smith College, John Hopkins, Muhlenberg College, Rice University, Suffolk Community College and Wakeforest University.The committee is also pleased to announce the 2014 Madelon DeVoe Talley scholarship recipients. They are Melissa Yurkewitch, who attends the Suffolk County College of Nursing in Selden, New York, and Joanne Prime who attends the eastern campus of Suffolk County Community College in Riverhead. Established in honor of Madelon DeVoe Talley, who left a generous bequest to LVIS in the 1980’s, the $3000 scholarships are awarded to a woman returning to college for a bachelor’s degree. Joanne’s goal is to major in biology at Stony Brook, while Melissa is considering work in the pre and post-surgical medical departments after graduation.|
