Thrift Shop Donations

THANK YOU for choosing the Ladies’ Village Improvement Society for your donation. Donations are what keeps our charitable efforts thriving.

Donations are generally accepted Wednesday - Saturday, 10 AM - 1 PM by appointment.

Appointments can now be scheduled by phone or online. If our standard appointment times do not fit into your schedule, please call 631-324-1220, ext. 4 and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.


We accept only clean, gently used items in salable condition, including:

  • Women’s and men’s clothing

  • Jewelry

  • Shoes, belts, scarves, handbags, luggage

  • Decorative home furnishings

  • Dishes, vases and linens

  • Books

  • Kitchenware

  • Tennis rackets, fishing rods, and other sports equipment

  • Art and lamps

  • Furniture, including tables, sofas, dressers, coffee tables and chairs

Kindly separate and label items between books, clothing, and household items.

We cannot accept:

  • Damaged or soiled merchandise

  • Beds, mattresses, bed frames

  • Electronic blankets or heating pads

  • Guns, knives (except kitchenware) or other hunting equipment

  • Electronics or appliances

  • Children’s clothing or toys

  • Cribs, strollers, car seats

Helpful reminders:

  • Clothing, shoes, and accessories should be clean and folded with no rips or stains.

  • Housewares should be clean, with no chips, burns or breaks. No appliances. Some electronic items are acceptable and will be approved upon delivery.

  • Books should be free of mold, tears, highlights and notes. No encyclopedias, dictionaries, textbooks, or magazines. No VCR tapes or cassettes.

  • Furniture and art should be clean, without stains, mold, tears or breaks.

LVIS reserves the right to tell you if we cannot accept certain items.
